MONIER TILE ROOFS

Elegant and high quality.

Our main 3 services

Traditional Roofing

Monier concrete tiles are a sophisticated choice for homeowners. They offer great protection and are environmentally friendly. LeakMaster takes extra care to install them properly and make sure each tile stays intact.

Roof Repair

The most common issue with these tiles are cracking, which will cause leaks to develop. LeakMaster will find these cracks and leaks and try to salvage your broken tiles or replace them.

Roof Coatings

Monier Tile originally comes with a glaze that with time is worn down causing tiles to become brittle. An easy fix is to coat them with protective coating, which is available in different colors. LeakMaster pressure sprays it on, to ensure all nooks and crannies are covered.

Overview

LeakMaster's Opinion

If you are lucky enough to have a Monier roof, keep it in top shape with an NXT Coating.  Seal up all cracks in the concrete so the water doesn’t degrade the tile and crack it.

Enjoy your beautiful roof.  You are at the top of the food chain.

Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Monier is beautiful, long lasting, and can be repaired indefinitely with periodic coating every 12 years or more.

  • Doesn’t blow off in high winds.

  • Increases the value of your home.

Cons
  • They can be hot because of their dark color.  You need to protect with NXT Cool Coat with it’s heat reflecting tints.

  • New Monier roofs are expensive.  Old ones are expensive to tear off and haul to the dump if they are too far gone.

  • Heavy termite guys and falling branches will crack tiles.

  • The waterproofing felts underneath the roof will eventually dry out and crack over time if the heat gets to it.

Traditional Monier Roofing Services

Monier concrete tiles have a long standing lifespan. The energy-efficient production process means they have a comparatively low environmental footprint. However, Monier Tiles have a glaze that fades over time & become brittle. If you tiles are 20 year or older, they will break down and crack. LeakMaster can replace your tiles with the same brand. To make your old Monier tiles last longer, we recommend coating them with NXT Cool Zone.

Monier Roof Repairs

Monier Tiles are elegant & long lasting. As they age their coating wears off and the concrete tiles absorb moisture and crack. If you are experiencing leaks, LeakMaster will find the source. If you have cracked tiles or need to re-grout, LeakMaster can repair your Monier Tile roof. We won’t sell you a new roof, if all you need is a simple repair.

Monier Roof Coatings

Monier Tile roofs are long lasting and sometimes just need a recoat. Over time the original protective glaze begins to fade away under the harsh Hawaiian sun. For coating Monier tiles LeakMaster recommends NXT Cool Zone, an acrylic roof coating with a 12 year material warranty by the manufacturer, Nu Tech Paints. This is the best Acrylic roof paint on the market and will keep your home cool — even with darker colors.
